Star Trek celebrates it’s 50th anniversary this month – for anyone that has followed along the journey it’s been an incredible one. In the past 50 years Star Trek has helped break racial and gender barriers. It has contributed in many ways to our popular culture, and fought an uphill battle to bring the series back from the dead. Fans even succeeded in having a Space Shuttle prototype named in its honor. This month we see the release of Star Trek: Beyond; 6 months later a new series kicks off on CBS. But even beyond this continuation there are efforts to bring the series back to a new heyday.
Last year Michael Dorn, the actor who has played Worf in Star Trek: The Next Generation and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine along with 5 movies, announced a campaign to bring a series focused on the popular character using the hashtag #WeWantWorf. Given the enthusiasm that Star Trek fans will have this month it’s a great time to highlight again this ongoing effort – and celebrate the 50th anniversary by joining us in a giveaway! And since we’re Star Trek fans just like you, we wanted to make sure this giveaway was a great one. The grand prize: a canvas print signed by Michael Dorn!
