Google I/O 2015 is underway, and Sundar Pichai opened the event with the usual statistics of how Android has done in the past year, and moved on to the first announcement of the day, the Android M Preview. VP of Engineering, Dave Burke took to the stage to announce the first feature of the M SDK: App Permissions.
In a perfect and much needed move, Android M brings granular App Permissions will allow users to individually grant or deny permissions to an app, after being prompted when an app requests access to a particular feature. Users can also view a list of all permissions that the app needs, or all a list of all the apps that need a specific permission.
