The LG G4 was announced on April 29th with its Snapdragon 808 SoC, a welcomed change from its higher-end cousin, the overheating 810. Packing 3GB of RAM, 32GB of storage, a 3000mAh battery, and an impressive 16MP camera, the G4 is widely considered to be one of the best flagships of 2015. After almost a month of release speculation, the major US carriers have finally released some information regarding the device’s availability, and here’s what we know so far:
T-Mobile
Pre-orders for the T-Mobile G4 begin tomorrow, with online orders shipping first followed by an in-store release on June 3rd. As is the norm with T-Mobile, buyers are not expected to pay anything upfront, with monthly payments of $24.99 extending over a period of 24 months, equating to a total of $599.76. Orders made online before the 21st of June will receive a free 128GB SD card while supplies last, and T-Mobile maintains exclusivity of the brown leather-backed G4.
Sprint
The Sprint G4 is already up for pre-order, with a release date set for the 5th of June. The device is available for $199 on a standard two-year contract as opposed to the $600 retail price, and can also be leased for $18 per month for two years or $28 per month for one year, or can be bought using Sprint’s EasyPay scheme wherein buyers pay $25 a month for two years. Sprint claims to be offering accessories like a second battery, a charging cradle and a 32GB SD card, but the LG USA site states that this applies to any G4s bought in the USA, provided buyers register on the site before the 21st of June.
Verizon
Verizon hasn’t explicitly stated anything regarding a release date for the G4, with a “Sign up for updates” page being the sole detail that the Big Red has regarding its launch. However, a Best Buy leak suggests a June 4th release date.
AT&T
Just like Verizon, there’s been no word from AT&T regarding the G4 release date, with a similar Best Buy leak hinting at a June 12th release date.
US Cellular
Pre-orders for the G4 from US Cellular are set to begin on the 29th of May, with no official release date mentioned. However, with most carriers giving dates within the first week of June, one can safely assume that US Cellular will release the device around that time too.
